From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the receptionist Alex she is very friendly and helpful young lady ! When you go to the back Miss Andria sits you down and starts asking you what you are there for and they start the process of shaping you into a new person.Dr. Chan comes in and starts asking questions and gets a game plan going. Mr. Wendell starts taking pictures and is the one who removes all the stitches and drains for you. He makes you feel like you’re a special patient but this is how he treats everyone. He is so good at his job. Last but not least is Dawn Rodriguez the nurse practitioner. She comes to the rescue when there are any problems and her and Alex take care of any paperwork that needs to be taken care of. Thank you Stars plastic surgery for being such a pleasure to work with. Dr. Chan is an amazing doctor. I first met him 9 yrs ago when I had breast cancer in left breast that required a mastectomy. He was working in the burn unit at BAMC at that time. At every appt, he answered every question I had (and I had a lot), never rushing me, always explaining everything every clearly. Professional, caring, compassionate, with a great bedside manner at the hospital. He did a tram-flap reconstruction and it went smoothly and w/o issues. Follow up was regular and always with the greatest concern for me. I found Dr. Chan again in July of this year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my rt breast. He did a needle expansion reconstruction this time. Again, no problems, follow up was like clockwork. He's at STARS now and the staff there are amazing. I couldn't offer a higher recommendation for Dr. Chan and STARS. If I ever need any type of plastic surgery in the future, he's the only doctor I will see. More

I'm doing a lot of travel, only staying in one area for about a week at a time. I called STARS and they were very attentive and accommodating. They scheduled an online evaluation with Dr. Chan the next day and were able to complete the procedure a few days later.Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. They were extremely good about social distancing. Although I had to wait a bit outside the office, I never even saw another patient while I was in the office, I only could see them going in and out.Dr. Chan was very competent and easy to talk to. I was made very comfortable during the procedure and it came out perfectly. I had zero pain while it was being done and, very minimal pain the next day, and none after that, without taking any pain medication. Very happy! More

Dr. Chan's has treated several family members and they are doing wonderful and look terrific! So, when I decided it was time for a tummy tuck there was no other choice for me. His credentials are impeccable. I asked my other physicians confirm my decision to use Dr. Chan for this procedure and they all whole heartedly agreed that he was the surgeon for me. During our initial consultation for the tummy tuck, Dr. Chan said that he could improve the look of a very large ugly scar from a previous surgery and that he recommend that I go with an Extended Abdominoplasty. Best decision ever! He removed years of unwanted "extra skin, tightened loose, sagging muscles, removed the horrible scar and gave me a waist for the first time in my life. I could not be happier. I was trying to allow a severe burn wound of mine that had occurred 6 weeks before I met Dr Chan to heal by secondary intention, but the wound only healed up to a certain point, then stalled. Dr Chan immediately arranged surgery to apply a skin graft after he reviewed photos of my burn. His bedside manner was wonderful! He spent a lot of time explaining treatment option advantages and disadvantages (including non-surgical. I was chicken of having anesthesia.) The graft healed nicely and I was very thankful for his guidance and his excellent surgical skills. Office staff also wonderful. They were very courteous and answered the phone promptly(after a brief robotic directing of the call), and called me back with answers to my questions.I would highly recommend Dr. Chan for anyone needing plastic surgery! Dr Chan gave me the results I wanted and made me feel so comfortable. He even asked to see me before my procedure because I had been a couple of months since our first consult. It was my delay in scheduling the procedure because of everything I had going on, but he wanted to make sure that he met with me so that we were in agreement with the plan and our goals. My sister had a terrible wound for over a year. She had seen specialist after specialist, and no one seemed to get this under control. Dr. Chan and his staff were very caring, and made sure my sister was taken care of. Her wound is finally starting to heal, and I can't help but feel eternally grateful that my sister is smiling again. I would however give the hospital 3 stars. I had surgery for my hidradenitis supportiva with Dr.Chan and on the initial visit for my assessment he went thoroughly through all my options, the process, and what to expect from surgery and the healing process. He was so patient with our questions and concerns, my parents are pretty protective lol. But not only did he put their mind at ease, so did his staff as well. Selina was so nice and diligent with my insurance and pco's office assuring that I got the proper referrals and was always sweet about checking on my approval before surgery. Even after surgery hearing about how long my recovery process was taking she filed for my extension with my insurance before the hospital staff even did. Raj was very comforting when it came to removing Staples and bandages, the staff for Dr.Chan are literally just as phenomenal of a person as he is. Not only with their medical skills, but with their bedside manner as well. Surgery for anyone is a hard thing to agree to, but suffering from hidradenitis for decades was even harder. I was paired up with Dr. Chan through another surgeon, I needed a left side mastectomy and we did a diep flap reconstruction. I was so nervous about this procedure but Dr. Chan did a great job explaining everything to me and my husband. When he included my husband by asking if he had any questions it really helped both of us feel so comfortable with him and his team. We knew we made the right choice. I am about 6 months out from my surgery, I had a phase II surgery and it was out patient - it went very quickly and he targeted everything I was concerned about at this tine. Dr. Chan is by far the best doctor I've ever had in my 30 years of life. He has taken amazing care of me as I go through my reconstruction after a double mastectomy. The results are too good to be true; you can barely see a scar. He is so polite and down to earth despite his ivy-league education. He doesn't rush in appointments; your time with his your time.
